I’m so excited to share how I make my eyes appear bigger when I’m preparing for an event or just want something extra on my regular days. This took me forever to learn, and I’m pumped to share some of my tips and tricks. Let’s get started:
My very first step is always an eye primer. My absolute favorite is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (ulta. com, $24). You can apply it with a brush or your fingers, and you’ll put it on your lids all the way up to your brows.
Next, I set it with an eyeshadow that is closest to my skin tone, or I’ll use a basic setting powder. Dusting a light shade over it before you start applying your darker shades will help with blending out your other shades.
Once I finish the setting step, I take a medium brown shade and blend that into my crease and outer corner. If you look in the mirror and see where your pupils are, that will help you determine how far to blend that medium shade into the outer corner of your eyelid. You should keep it on the outmost side of your pupil.
After I get that medium brown shade blended how I like it, I’ll add my darker shade of brown to just the outer corner of my lid and softly blend it up into my crease. Remember, less is more.
Next, add a super-light shade or a shimmer shade for a pop of sass to the other half of your lid — and make it pop!!
Smoke out the bottom lash line with the first two brown shades and add a pop of highlighter in the very inner corner.
I personally don’t do eyeliner on my eyelid because I already have small eyes. However, if I do, I make a very thin line and add white eye liner to my bottom water line to widen my eye back up.
Finally, apply mascara to finish the look off and bring it all together!
