Growing up in East Germany, Angi Truebner- Webb demonstrated against the Berlin Wall — an experience that shaped her perspective on resilience and change.
She went on to face future obstacles with the same can-do spirit, raising her son as a single mom for 19 years and building a career in the male-dominated gaming industry. Her talents propelled her through the ranks, and in December, she took over for retiring John Ferrucci as vice president and general manager of Silver Slipper Casino in Bay St. Louis.
“I’m excited and a little nervous, but ready to lead with authenticity, vision and energy,” she says. “It’s an honor to step into this role and continue building on John’s incredible legacy.”

FROM EAST GERMANY TO THE GULF COAST
Hailing from Guben, Germany, Truebner-Webb fell in love with the Coast when she attended St. Martin High School as an exchange student. After finishing her graduate studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Dresden, she pursued internships at Hilton, where her passion for hospitality took root.
“I knew then that I wanted to lead a property one day,” she says.
In 2000, Truebner-Webb embarked on a gaming career at Treasure Bay Casino as a junior financial analyst. From there, she steadily assumed more responsibility and took on bigger challenges.
Like all those living on the Coast in 2005, Truebner- Webb’s life was upended by Hurricane Katrina.
“My son was just 6 months old, and we lost everything,” she recalls. “I rented a truck, drove to IKEA in Atlanta and refurbished my apartment for my son and me, rebuilding our lives piece by piece. That experience taught me that if I could overcome such devastation, I could face any challenge.”
COMING FULL CIRCLE
After landing at Silver Slipper in 2010, Truebner-Webb wore many hats for the next nine years, including financial and marketing analyst and accounting manager.
“I developed a reputation for leading investigations, streamlining processes and delivering actionable analytics that supported decision-making across departments,” she says. “My dedication to service earned me employee of the Year within my first year.”
Truebner-Webb’s performance also secured her a promotion to executive director of finance and administration at Rising Star Casino, a sister property in Indiana, where she eventually advanced to general manager.
“Returning to Silver Slipper as vice president and general manager has been a full-circle moment for me,” she says, “an opportunity to return home to a property I deeply love and respect.”
The Silver Slipper team feels like family to Truebner-Webb, who points out that many employees have worked there for over a decade, “which speaks volumes about our culture and commitment to our people.” At Rising Star, she turned the property’s financial performance around and left a lasting, positive impact, and she’s ready to bring the same energy to her new role.
“John Ferrucci’s legacy is undeniable, and I don’t aim to fill his shoes, but to create my own path,” she says. “I will continue the strong community partnerships and operational excellence he established while incorporating fresh ideas, innovative promotions and a deeply employee-centric approach to leadership.”
Truebner-Webb is the kind of boss who keeps a gratitude journal and believes in the power of affirmations. She also supports mental health initiatives and cares deeply about creating equal opportunities for everyone.
“I’ve become an advocate for mental health, inspired by personal family experiences and my own journey with therapy,” she says. “Today, I’m passionate about raising awareness and reducing the stigma around mental health care.”
As general manager, Truebner- Webb is now responsible for the wellbeing of approximately 500 employees and their families, and her role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring profitability, fostering a positive culture and maintaining the Silver Slipper’s high standards. Describing her leadership style as collaborative and employee-driven, she says she believes in showing up for her team, empowering them and fostering growth.
“As I settle in, I look forward to continuing the property’s legacy, introducing fresh ideas and working with my directors to create an environment where employees thrive,” Truebner-Webb says. “I will lead the property my way: with lots of laughter, hard work, authenticity and love.”
