Power to the puff

This blast from the past is here to stay

The ’80s are back in full effect. I’m so excited! I’ve always wanted to be a part of this fun, vibrant era, and now I can be!

The puff sleeve has gradually been gaining a foothold in 2020, and as you’ve probably noticed, it’s everywhere. At this point, it’s no longer a trend; it’s a classic. The puff sleeve is known for giving extreme volume on top while creating a slimmer, fitted shape in the waist.

Although the puff can be bold and intimidating, it’s the perfect risk to take. Within the puff-sleeve family, you have so many styles to choose from. Some may go for the vintage, Victorian feel, giving a nod to the late 1800s. There’s also the elongated puff, which is perfect for flowing tops or dresses. The off-the-shoulder puff sleeve makes a romantic, yet modern, statement.

The puff sleeve also has the advantage of being multi-seasonal; it’s the wardrobe element you need to transition from summer to autumn. Making it your own is the best part.

I love this mint green, cropped puff-sleeve top. It gives me volume while maintaining a light-and-airy, feminine feel. With simple accessories and long bell bottom/ flare jeans, this look is stylish and comfortable while staying on-trend.
