Spring is here on the Gulf Coast, and I’m honestly loving it! Beautiful weather equals colorful fashion, and that’s something I’m here for.
As we dive into trends, let’s start with florals. We all remember Miranda Priestly from “The Devil Wears Prada” sneering, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” But in this case, it’s kind of true. We definitely will see florals, but in a different, more dramatic way. We are so used to this season being the time for pastels, and if you love them, don’t worry; we will still see them. However, the motto for spring 2022 seems to be the bolder, the better when it comes to color.
Speaking of color, bright and neon shades are taking over for spring/summer — as they should.
From oranges and yellows to bright purples and greens (my favorite), color is the season’s main trend. I’m in love with the fun, fearless mix of color and florals we’re seeing in pieces like the floral square neck balloon sleeve midi dress from Nasty Gal. It’s bold with the choice of pattern and colors, but still neutral enough for those whose style isn’t over the top.
I’m also in love with the Vila tailored wide leg jumpsuit in this grass green color, available on Asos. The styling is very on point for spring, although I would add touches of complementary colors to the outfit with accessories. Of course, the best way to make your look pop is to bring in a bold color with shoes or a purse.
This spring is all about loving color and going for it, so don’t be shy. Be brave and bold with your styling this season.
