Three easy steps to a ‘WOW’ wardrobe

How to look polished, put together and appropriate for any occasion

There really is no big secret to looking fabulous. You just need to take the time to learn your body type, how to dress it and choose the right styles for you. Once you have that down, dressing well is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Here are three easy steps to a WOW wardrobe:

1. KEEP ONLY WHAT YOU LOVE

Studies show that 80% of people wear 30% of what’s hanging in their closet. What a shame! You can change this by having an efficient closet. Fill it with pieces that fit well, make you feel great and are right for your lifestyle. Make sure you love everything you wear! Imagine getting dressed every day in outfits that make you happy and leave you looking amazing. Organize your closet in a way that makes dressing easy and sensible. You’ll save time and money, too!

2. ‘BLAST’ YOUR OUTFIT

BLAST is an acronym for bottoms, layer, accessories, shoes and topper. This is the order in which you should get dressed. Find the bottoms first, and build your outfit around them. Then choose a layer for the top. It could be a blouse, tee or sweater. You also can choose a camisole to wear underneath another top.

Now it’s time to add personality and make the ensemble your own with accessories. Consider jewelry, scarves and handbags when putting the look together.

Next, you’ll want to pick shoes. This decision can determine whether your outfit looks dressy or casual. You’ll also have to consider comfort. What are your plans? How long will you be wearing them? Will you be mainly walking, sitting or standing?

Lastly, you’ll need a topper. This could be a cardigan, blazer, poncho, or a top to wear over a camisole, tank or bralette. You’re all done! Ta da!

3. CHECK YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR

I know this sounds very elementary, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve changed my mind after putting together an entire outfit. Seeing the full picture ensures your look is cohesive. Get a full-length mirror so you can see yourself from head to toe. Check the weather forecast so you’ll be prepared. Feeling great? Now you’re a pro! Don’t forget to post a selfie on your social media with #lovemylook.
