Expecting company over the holidays? This is the time to unleash your creativity and design a setting for memories that will be treasured for many years to come.
IF YOU’RE INSPIRED TO MAKE YOUR HOME LOOK MAGICAL THIS SEASON BUT NEED SOME HELP GETTING STARTED, HERE ARE SOME TIPS:
• The key to making your home warm and welcoming is a well-decorated entranceway. Drape your door with Christmas lights and festive garland to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere. Another useful tip is to create a “wow” factor in each room. Sparkling centerpieces, dazzling trees or glitzy garland is the perfect way to bring your space to life.
• Decorative garland is a must have in every holiday home. Even if you do not have a mantle, it can be draped on a TV stand, a bookshelf, a staircase, above cabinetry or all the above.
• When creating an eye-catching Christmas display, it’s all about size and pizazz! In interior design, things always look better in threes. Try using décor in different shapes and sizes; alternating the height and volume of your decorations is a simple yet effective way to mesmerize your guests.
• When decorating this holiday season, don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold together. Also, it is okay to step away from the traditional Christmas reds and greens. Pink, teal, and lime green can be a fun pop of color to include your Christmas décor.
• Additionally, consider how your color scheme meshes with the style of your room. While decorating your tree, use large ornaments, velvet flowers and an untraditional tree topper. Include holiday candles, fresh pinecones or cinnamon sticks to capture the entire Christmas experience in your home.
