BEFORE MY TRANSFORMATION
I had just had a baby via c-section two months prior to starting on this journey at a yoga/barre/Pilates studio and was ready to get healthy for my family.
MY GOAL
My goal was and is to be healthy for my family, to be consistent and to be able to continue serving in my local church.
WHAT I DID
I started going to 5:30 p.m. barre classes in November of 2020, and as soon as the 5 a.m. classes became available in January of 2021, I was there Monday, Wednesday and Friday and at 8 a.m. on Saturdays.
HOW IT WORKED
It was a gradual and healthy weight loss of 22 pounds achieved by just staying consistent and making sure getting to class was a priority.
THE MOST DIFFICULT PART
The most difficult part was absolutely waking up at 4:30 a.m. to make it to the 5 a.m. class with a newborn at home. It was hard, but absolutely worth it.
HOW I FEEL TODAY
I feel fantastic! This is the strongest I’ve been since high school. My energy is sustained throughout the day. I’m able to focus on our little girl and my job and serve at my local church.
MY ADVICE TO OTHERS
My advice is to start — start small, or jump into amazing, intense classes. Don’t give up when you really want to or when you aren’t seeing as much progress as you want. Slow and steady wins the race and brings great results, not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
