Anything a bride requires, Kerri Pellegrin and her team at The Wedding Collection are determined to provide.
If she’s overwhelmed coordinating her big day, she can leave the arrangements to The Planning by TWC. If she seeks a gown, The Dress by TWC will style her to perfection. And since April of this year, if she needs anything from engagement party attire to bridal party gifts, WHITE by TWC has her covered.
“I wanted to have a ‘one-stop bridal shop’ to help streamline the process of wedding planning and all things that come with being a bride and groom,” says Pellegrin, owner, planner and designer with The Wedding Collection, “so we created a full-service bridal experience, with that extension now being a clothing and gift boutique, all in one location.”
Based in Bay St. Louis, The Wedding Collection started as a wedding planning firm, but Pellegrin soon realized that brides needed more. She added The Dress by TWC, a bridal gown salon, in 2019, which began offering bridesmaids’ and mothers’ dresses the following year.
WHITE by TWC was meant be a small gift collection from which soon-to-be-married couples could buy keepsakes and small items for their bridal party, Pellegrin explains, “and we ended up with a boutique full of all the items and brands you could imagine.”
“It was a platform we knew we needed,” she adds, “but we didn’t anticipate bringing it this far this early after opening The Dress by TWC and having it be such an enormous part of our brand so quickly.”
Pellegrin started working toward her entrepreneurial dream in 2015. While preparing to wed her husband, Kevin, she found herself swamped by the vast amount of decisions to make, budget matters to consider and information to absorb. Drawing on her 25 years of project management experience and her love of all things wedding, she aimed to create a business that took the burden off brides while being fun, unique and service driven.
“(Our clients) truly love TWC as much as we do, and we are so humbled by that,” she says. “As a small business owner, the biggest fear is opening and having no one believe in your business or brand, and we have been so fortunate to not only have loyal clients, but also a loyal team.”
To keep offerings fresh, the Wedding Collection team buys from markets two to three times a year and debuts new items daily. WHITE by TWC not only offers an array of white clothing, ideal for all body types and bridal occasions, but it also carries cozy throw blankets, tote bags and clutches, jewelry and accessories, home décor items and gifts galore.
“Our buyers are fashion-forward and fashion driven, so they have a good pulse on what is up and coming in trends and what is new now,” Pellegrin says, “and we keep that momentum with every purchase.”
Despite its nuptial emphasis, The Wedding Collection isn’t just for brides and their wedding parties. Graduates, debutantes and even Mardi Gras revelers can shop there to create a one-of-a-kind, sensational look.
“We truly are a boutique that loves helping us clients find the perfect item,” Pellegrin says, “and we celebrate them every day.”
